These Octopus sheening fountain pen inks are some of my best-sellers. I pride myself on having popularized these in the US after singing their praises nonstop on Reddit’s r/fountainpens subreddit. They are gorgeous, interesting color combinations that you don’t find in a lot of sheening inks from other brands (look at Goblin and Witch, for example).

Be prepared: dry time is VERY long, and good fountain pen paper with lots of coating or sizing makes all the difference. I recommend Clairefontaine, Rhodia, or Wearingeul fountain pen paper.

Getting the most from sheen: These are dye-based inks with a contrasting surface sheen. A wetter pen or broader nib can help bring out the effect. Expect long dry times, and remember that even dry writing can smudge when touched with damp hands.
