Collection: Taccia

Taccia was founded in 2003 by designer Shu-Jen Lin in Orange County, California, with a vision to blend Japanese craftsmanship and contemporary design in premium writing instruments and inks. The brand later joined Itoya of America (2011) and upgraded its pen lineup to Sailor-made nibs starting in 2013—moves that positioned Taccia firmly in the high-end segment for both pens and inks. Now, it's under the Eshalon umbrella (run by former Itoya royalty).

Today, Taccia is especially known for ambitious, nontraditional takes on maki-e and urushi—limited editions that combine intricate techniques with bold, modern storytelling. Recent Empress LE models, for example, feature complex, multi-layer maki-e work and are fitted with exclusive two-tone 18k “King of Pen” nibs produced for Taccia, underscoring the brand’s focus on top-tier materials, artistry, and performance.
