I absolutely love the Octopus Write & Draw inks. With 38 beautiful, mixable colors, you can even fine-tune that exact shade of black-red or brown you want. (I’m personally still working on recreating a waterproof Iroshizuku Hotaru-Bi dupe.)

These inks are excellent, well behaved (there is some nib creep, but these inks are drama-free enough that I even use them in some of my most prized pens), medium-fast drying in my use, and WONDERFULLY waterproof once dry. Perfect for letters, notes that might get rained on, and watercolor outlines for artists. Let your outlines dry fully before adding a wash.

Using these pigment inks in a fountain pen: Don’t let the ink dry inside your pen. Octopus recommends rinsing and cleaning your writing instrument after use; White Polar Bear needs immediate cleaning. The Write & Draw cleaner is made for this range.
