Octopus’s classic range of fountain pen inks are amazing everyday colors. They’re dependable, quick-drying (usually under 30 seconds in my use), and extremely well behaved on a range of papers—with a bit of bleeding on the cheapest papers.

The colors seem to fit a wide variety of occasions, from more reserved notes and formal correspondence to fun journal entries or bright headers. Your pen, paper, and choice of color will affect drying time, but these are inks I’m happy to put to work every day.
