Where it fits in: If you see me out and about, this is the fountain-pen friendly notebook I’m carrying. The Clairefontaine 1951 notebook is one of the best values in fountain-pen-friendly paper, since it has the same incredibly smooth paper as slightly pricier options (like the Clairefontaine Triomphe notebooks) and a generous number of (lined) pages.
In many ways this is the perfect notebook: I do A LOT of writing for work, and only manage to go through about 2 of these per year. That means I get a year’s worth of fountain-pen notetaking on the some of the most luxurious French paper for just over $20.
Luxurious, French-milled, 90g paper (lined). Ultra-smooth, and practically begging to be used with fountain pens. Colorful, textured cover with contrasting cloth spine, front label and band.
96 sheets (192 pages).
SIZE: 5.75in. x 8.25in. (A5)
Lining: Lined
P.S. They say Julia Child was a fan. Back in '51, this was her go-to notebook for recipe-keeping.
