Some fountain pens begin with a color; this one begins with a book. Wearingeul’s Preface Series No. 003 - The Glass Bead Game turns Hermann Hesse’s quiet, intricate world into a pen made for margin notes, long journal entries, and ideas that deserve more than another open browser tab.
The cellulose acetate body layers muted pink and soft green with a fine shimmer, finished with cool silver-colored trim. The pattern is part of the material rather than printed on top, so each pen has its own arrangement of color, clouding, and sparkle. The book-style presentation box carries the literary idea through without making the pen feel too precious to use.
This is a practical cartridge/converter pen beneath the storytelling: a threaded, postable cap, an ABS feed, and a surgical-grade stainless steel nib in Fine or Medium. A converter is included. Early owners generally describe a comfortable, fairly light pen with relatively narrow line widths, although nib feel has varied from smooth to light feedback. The section is on the wider side, which is worth knowing if you strongly prefer slim grips.
