Platinum Blue-Black Ink (Dye-Based)

For the notebook that holds your daily lists, reading notes, and longer thoughts, Platinum Blue-Black offers a quietly shaded dark blue with some old-fashioned chemistry behind it.

This is Platinum’s standard water-based dye ink for fountain pens, in a large 60mL bottle. Its formula also contains iron gall: the blue dye is combined with iron compounds that oxidize after writing, leaving a darker, lasting component on the paper. That is why “dye-based” and “iron gall” both describe this ink.

It belongs in a regularly used fountain pen. The bottle includes an internal filling reservoir to help reach the ink as the level drops. Flush the pen before switching to another ink, and clean it before putting it away for an extended break.
