Endless built the Recorder around one big idea: make ink look its absolute best without turning the notebook into a delicate, high-ghosting science project. The current generation uses Regalia, Endless’s proprietary 80gsm, acid-free paper—a smooth, bright sheet engineered to show off shading and sheen while keeping everyday writing clean and controlled.
In use, Regalia is the kind of paper that makes you want to do an ink swab “just to check,” because it has excellent color reproduction and tends to handle fountain pen ink with minimal feathering and very little bleed. It’s also been reworked in later batches to reduce the “hand oils repel ink” issue that some early users reported—so the modern experience is more consistent as a daily notebook, not just a showcase sheet.
The notebook itself is a practical, well-finished A5 hardback: leatherette cover with rounded corners, elastic closure, two ribbon bookmarks, and an inner pocket—plus perforated pages for tear-out notes and included guide sheets (useful if you bounce between blank/dot and want quick structure). Many editions also ship with a cotton pouch/dust bag, which is a nice touch if you throw it in a bag with pens.
