Collection: Waterproof/Permanent Ink

Sometimes you want your writing to be a bit more permanent: travel journals that might get rained on during your adventures; journals that you want to pass down to your kids; drawings that you might add watercolor to. Bottle and Plume has a huge selection of "everything-proof" inks:

  • Pigment inks are waterproof because they contain tiny particles that cover the paper.
  • Iron Gall inks use chemistry to "burn" (oxidize) the paper to make your writing permanent. Interestingly some of the oldest inks are iron-gall.
  • Modern archival inks made to resist water, ultraviolet light, and time.
  • Certified Document inks have all the guarantees of an archival ink, and additionally protect against fading/erasure by many chemicals commonly used in forgery, like strong acids and bases, solvents, and more.
